Gossip Girl: 5x24 The Return Of The Ring

I usually hate season finales. Because either they leave the characters at a cliffhanger, with some sort of decision to be made, or there is a decision, but you don't like it at all and want to go back to when things were better.
But this finale of Gossip Girl just got me super excited for the coming season. Almost every storyline looks like it will be much more interesting than this years'. I am especially looking forward to what is going to happen with Serena. A lot of drama probably is what we can expect, it is Gossip Girl, right? But hopefully, a lot of fun, too. Having the old partygirl back could be really entertaining, don't you think? We didn't actually see her much like this before, though.
Anyway, fall can't come soon enough!!!

Gossip Girl: 5x23 The Fugitives

So, that Bart-Bass-storyline is really believable, isn't it? But I don't want to say much about this topic, neither about how S and Dan looked like as a couple, nor about Lola and her narcissitic ways of being ("Then I can get your full attention."-Lola, about the fact, that Diana is gone.)
Ok, one thing that I just can't possibly ignore: Dan's hair. Ugh. Seriously? Just NOT ok.

But what I really want to talk about is next week's episode, because it is going to be the finale! Sooo much had happend, and I am really, really looking forward to how they are going to let all this mess end.
Here are two promos:

"I don't want to be Mr. Blair Waldorf, I'm Chuck Bass." Finally! Chuck was such a cool person, before he got all Romeo-and-Juliet with Blair.

"I built this empire." -Chuck.
Again, he is just great and doesn't need anyone, not Blair, not his father, not Nate, who is scheming behind his back with Lola even if Chuck told him not to. (Perhaps he could need a little bit of Serena? Looks like she is getting back together with Brooklyn, but maybe next season, she could be cheating on him with the king of the UES...)

Blair and Serena's friendship seems to be heading a bad place, but that is nothing we didn't see before. In fact, it was kind of unrealistic to see them being all "BFF-love you so much"-ish.

Can't wait for the next and also last episode!!!

Gossip Girl: 5x22 Raiders of the Lost Art MUSIC

So, Bass senior is back in the picture, huh? Who didn't see that coming? It might have been obvious, but not logical, not at all. Jack Bass, Chuck's uncle, not his father( a fact that no one really doubted, come on, can't there be a picture of you and your sister-in-law without an affair between the two of you?), he tried to get the Empire and stuff from Chuck first, using the meanest schemings, while he really was just hiding Bart for some creepy reason? Yes, that seems to be a believable reason.
Now that Lily and Rufus are having trouble with their relationship, Bart can have a little comeback here as well... (aren't they in fact still married?)

I didn't like how Lola (why is she back? why?) and Nate treated Serena. I mean, she was willing to help them and do the right thing, but they just fooled her and lied to her.
What is Serena going to do know? No job, no boyfriend, no real friends... Poor S.

And Dan is just a paranoid teddy bear, that's all.

Gossip Girl: 5x21 Despicable B

Family is obviously the main topic of the last and the obcoming few episodes.

Chuck's problems are kind of confusing, Elisabeth is saying "I'm your mother", then she says "sorry, I'm not your mother", and then comes Diana "I am your mother" (with this accent, making it sound rather ridiculous), but here we go, Elisabeth: "Look at the cute pregnant me, I'm his mother." And now? Chuck is questioning if his father even was his father. Nice choice: The man, who made your childhood all about that you are not good enough, or someone, who is always sabotaging and wanted to sleep with your girlfriend, causing a major fight between the two of you?

I am glad Serena is finally treating her dad the way she should. Honestly, do you guys remember how obsessed she was looking for him, ruining relationships because of that? Oh, and suddenly he is back, and everyone loves eachother? No, she was supposed to be mad, she wasn't at first, but now she is and it is good.

Blair's issues about how cool she is? I have one tip for her: Get a job, girl!

Gossip Girl: 5x20 Salon of the Dead

Finally! Lola, one of the most annoying GG person ever, decided to leave the Upper East Side. But unfortunately, we can't be sure about the fact that she is gone for good, because on Gossip Girl, they are always coming back. Like Vanessa (loved how Blair said: "Vanessa what's her name?") or Jenny. Always a bit more annoying than before and with a judgemental and "I am so much better than every one else" attitude.

The news that the mother of the Basstard actually is Diana Payne didn't come too surprisingly. Sex obsessed, powerful, scheming, extremely good looking ... what a family!

Serena is really using her new powers for what she wants. I like it, very much indeed. Making Lola loose her job chances? Nothing easier than that. But her having a GG video uplink app on her phone? Come on, couldn't the writers have made it any more obvious for everyone? Very realistic, really.

Blair and Dan were trying to ~decide in which world they want their relationship to be in~ , the Upper East Side or Brooklyn. In the end, they found out, that "our relationship is our world" (Dan). Super cheesy, wasn't it? And unnecessary, too. Dan doesn't have to "enter her world", he desperately wanted to when he started seeing Serena and became her boyfriend. That is why the Upper East Side is not really new to him, and Brooklyn isn't exactly for Blair, because she already spent a lot of time hiding out there. So, what was all the drama for?

After all, this episode was ok, but nothing more. What this season urgently needs is a thrilling love story. It is Gossip Girl, there normally always is. Why not now?

Gossip Girl: 5x19 It Girl, Interrupted

This season is really annoying me at some point (especially the girls: Lola, Ivy, BLAIR...), but Serena, taking over Gossip Girl and using it for what she wants, might be the thing happend in a while. The past few seasons, S was always the sweet, kind of innocent girl, everyone else messed with, but now, she is finally taking control. Hopefully, she will be doing some more malicious stuff. :P

Something else I am hoping for is a new love interest for her. It doesn't have to be a serious one, but I want to see her having some fun. Maybe a handsome, rich boy, she party with, without any "I love you, you're the world to me" shit. (Chuck!!! I know, I am annoying.)

A highlight of this episode was Chuck's outfit in his first scene. I miss his funny style, do you guys remember all the ridiculous clothes he used to wear? Ridiculous, but it still suited him. He could just wear anything, I would still love him.

Lola is still annoying, that is nothing new. "Oh my god, I am way to cool to be an It-girl". Go away, girl, nobody needs you.

The two best songs this episode were:

Bad Girls - M.I.A.
Skins fans might remember it from 6x08. Anyway, it is a great song. I hope, Serena will be living like that a bit more soon. "Live fast, die young, bad girls do it well..."

Hit the Ground (Superman) - The Big Pink
Love that song. The band is very cool anyway, you should really check them out, especially the song "Dominos".

Gossip Girl: 5x18 Con-Heir

source: http://www.putlocker.com/file/451C7AD15AF71950#
This week's episode of Gossip Girl was something I waited for impatiently. But it didn't really turned out to be worth all that waiting, in fact, it was pretty boring. And it doesn't look like there is going to be any interesting storyline soon. Chuck's mommy complex back on the plan, does anyone need that? Dan and Blair, I know a lot of people love them, but seriously, they are nothing but lame together. And Lola. She might be the most superfluous person that joined the Upper East Side in years. Almost everything about her annoys me. Her relationship with Nate, the way she is just extremely rude and unpolite to everyone, her judgemental attitude.
I miss a really interesting love interest. Maybe Serena could fall in love again, or at least have somebody who she could possibly fall for... Chuck? I am still hoping that they are getting together, it would be so much fun. A party night with a lot of alcohol to forget about all their problems, cut, the morning after at Chuck's suite... I wish I was the writer of the show and could make it happen... but it would take away all the suspense, wouldn't it? :)

Gossip Girl: 5x17 Review/ 5x18 Promo

I don't like Dair, never did, never will. Last episode (5x17 "The Princess Dowry) didn't change a thing about that. They annoyed me even more. Like Dawn Falik said on "speakeasy" (http://blogs.wsj.com/speakeasy/2012/02/27/gossip-girl-season-5-episode-17-the-princess-dowry-tv-recap/), they are "the most chemistryless couple ever"!
But honestly, I am kind of over Blair. That sounds weird, but what I mean is: In the past, I always loved Chuck and Blair, together, I wanted them to have their happy end. But lately, I just think that Chuck should get over her. Because EVERYTHING was about her, all the time, just her, whether she chooses Chuck or Louis, Chuck or Dan. And now she doesn't even want Chuck anymore ("I love you, but I am not in love with you."). So, fine, Chuck, forget about her and all her drama, and be the awesome, sacastic, selfconfident Chuck everyone misses.
And Blair? She can have Dan now, if she wants to. I really don't mind, as long as I don't have to see them. Because- did I already mention?- they ANNOY me!

Anyway, seeing the couple everyone seems to love recently after overcoming all the obstacles like S, Chuck, Louis, a royal marriage contract,... with problems like that, is going to be so much fun! It is mean, but I want them to be unhappy.

Valentine's Day Special Part 2: Gossip Girl

First of all: Happy Valentine's Day to all of you. Hope you have someone special to spend it with, or atleast to dream about. Or you can do it like and just think about all the cute couples on TV. Really, who needs real love? :P

At this Valentine's Specials, I am going to talk about all the couples that I love or that I would really, really love, if they would finally happen.

Gossip Girl:

Blair and Chuck. "Of course I love you, Chuck, I have always loved you." Is there anything more to say? Damm all that Dair lovers (no offense, but Dan and Blair? Sorry, no.)

With Chair being my favourite at any times, is it weird to think Serena and Chuck should become a couple? Both of them have been through a lot lately, both of them now broken hearted. And they got really close lately. I think they deserve some happiness after all, and they could be very funny together. If we look back, they are really the only ones never having a thing going on the upper east side. It was Blair- Nate, Blair- Chuck, Blair- Dan, Serena-Dan, Serena-Nate, (if we leave out everything with Jenny or Vanessa...).
So, why not Chuck and Serena? I would LOVE to see them together soon.

These are old photos, I know. You don't believe how hard it is to find the right pictures of a couple no one else likes. (Actually, I am not the only one, because on fanfiction.net, the biggest fanfiction site I know, there are 34 stories about them. http://www.fanfiction.net/book/Gossip_Girl/10/2/0/1/0/9211/9186/0/0/1/)

Gossip Girl: The Back-Up Dan QUOTES

Yes, Drama, Drama, Blair has to face a marriage without love, Serena has to accept that Humphrey doesn't love her, Lola (the actual Charlie, my theory is that her mother just wanted a prettier daughter :P) is getting to know her family without knowing it, and Chuck... But despite (or just because) of all that, I want to focuse on the funny side of last night's episode.

So, here there are, the 6 best quotes from "The Back-Up Dan":
  • "Pretty desperate, Nathaniel, but the one looks worth it."- Chuck (commenting Nate helping Lola)
  • "This is Georgina Sparks, she is pretty much the worst person you will ever meet, so just avoid eye contact at all times." - Nate
  • "He is lying, he has gotten pretty good at it, too." - Georgina (talking about Dan)
  • "Everyone will instantly know, because she refuses to get botox. Her face is an emoticon" - Blair (about her Mom not being able to lie)
  • "Oh, oh, group shot!" - Georgina (taking the picture at the hotel)
  • "Thankfully Miss Georgina is a mother, she not leave me without snacks." - Dorota (being found locked in the wardrobe)
I really have to say, the writers did a pretty good job at this episode, though more with the dialogues than the story lines.

Gossip Girl: G.G. REVIEW

So, the Royal Wedding finally took place. Blair and Louis are married now, who did honestly thought that would really happen. I didn't.
The wedding itself, disregarding what happend, was not as glamorous as I expected it to be. Yes, of course, it was nice, pretty dresses, tiaras, flowers, some champagne, but nice? Epic is what is should be like. Did someone watch the real prince's wedding? Ok, one thing was similar: the white suit. And I already didn't like it last summer. Even the really better looking Louis (who is looking even better when he is not all that poshly dressed up, by the way) doesn't change that.
sources: Louis:http://www.realstylenetwork.com/blogs/fashion-and-style/files/2012/01/gossip-girl-season-5-vera-wang-bridesmaids-dresses-blair-waldorf.jpg, Albert: http://www.heirat.at/blog/uploads/albert-charlene-2.jpg

Quotes

This episode was filled with a lot of good lines from different characters.

My favourites:

"Jesus owes me one." - Georgina Sparks (it isn't still Sparks, is it?)
Love that one, love her. When Georgina comes back, you always know it is going to be bad. But trying to ruin the wedding was actually a good thing.
I like her husband, too. If she involves him into her machinations, what a perfect intriguer is her son Milo going to be?
But Phil (her husband) should definitly know a little bit better:
"There is going to be a scandal?" - Phil (last name?)

It is Georgina, of course is there a scandal!
....

"The world is really a mess, when the most honest person we know is Chuck Bass" - Nate Archibald
Chuck - how can anyone possibly not want him to have a his happy ending, to be with Blair?
"It should be us out there and you know it" - Chuck Bass
....

Someone I loved and hated this episode was Elenor Waldorf, Blair's mum.
"Are you coming to stop this thing or what" - Elenor Waldorf
source: http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/sites/default/files/imagecache/thumbnail_570x321/2012/01/gossop_girl_g_g_a_l.jpg

She was my hero at this moment. But after the church at the party, I didn't understand her anymore. Why was she happy? Could you be happy if you know that your daughter just married a man she doesn't love?

Music

Let's talk about music. Gossip Girl has often a really great soundtrack, and the 100th episode was no exception.
The 2 songs that attracted my attention the most are:

  • Young Folks by The Kooks, which is actually a cover from the Swedish group Peter Bjorn and John.
          http://www.youtube.com/user/GossipGirlItalianGDR?feature=g-all-a#p/u/7/Fu4Lk2vFnfk

  • Slow by Grouplove. It was just perfect at the moment it was played. The last persons were walking into the church, Serena and Dan, then Blair and her fathers. But all I waited for was what Chuck was going to do. And he really appeared at the door. And time really moved slow for me. It was the moment, where everything could have happend. (By the way, mobile phones in a church? Watching a video during a wedding ceremony? No good manners, guys...) One of these Gossip Girl moments, when you are just breathless and dying to know what will happen.

Gossip Girl: G.G. 100th episode PROMO

Only one week left until the episode we all waited for, the Royal Wedding is finally taking place. Everyone is curious what is going to happen, everywhere are photos, videos and ideas of possible happenings, but for me, everything doesn't really make sense so far.

The latest promo didn't pay any attention to all of these questions the people are dying to know about (at least I am), but showed us all the reasons we LOVE Gossip Girl with a collection of some of the best quotes ever. It is epic. I love it. OMG.

Gossip Girl: The Father And The Bride REVIEW

Tell me. We are Dan and Serena, you can tell me anything. It must be true, 'cause I read that online. - Dan

source: http://external.ak.fbcdn.net/safe_image.php?d=AQCuAKTPasUeJzfj&url=http%3A%2F%2Fi2.ytimg.com%2Fvi%2Fm4Nu2g2e61M%2Fhqdefault.jpg
Who would have thought that Dan Humphrey would be the one that not only one, but actually both of Gossip Girl's female main characters are in love with? Does anyone even remember that little insecure boy that did nothing but waiting in a hotel lobby for hours to see Serena? He definitly did grow, but I am not sure, if I like the "new Dan". (I know, he didn't change over night, but though...) Isn't it pretty unfair of him not to be grateful at all when S canceled her column for him (at least that is what he thinks, because he doesn't know any of the things that are going on with S and the Vanderbilt family). He is just like: oh, yeah, thanks for giving up your only career perspective right now for his future novel, that no one will want to read anyway. Of course, what are 1000 comments compared to a book, that isn't even wanted by his publishers. God, he became soo selfcentered. Or is it just because he is "so insanely in love" with Blair? Why does everyone always want the one they can't have? Serena wants Dan, who wants Blair, who honestly wants Chuck (but can't have him because of God...) and since the last episode, Beatrice, who is in love with the royal family's priest.
In my opinion, Dan should just stop dreaming about Blair and see what is infront of him: the GORGEOUS Serena. Otherwise, it will be too late and Nate will take her. Maybe Archibald doesn't really know it yet, but I think he going to fall for her again. Who wouldn't? I really love Blair, she is the best, but that doesn't mean that all the attention has got to be on her. Why don't share some of that love??? :)

Gossip Girl: The Father And The Bride - Promo *SPOILER ALERT*

Only 4 days left until Gossip Girl's next episode, "The Father And The Bride".The promos are very promosing (both the American and the Canadian). Take a look:

The offical synopsis:
Blair prepares to celebrate her upcoming royal wedding with a bachelorette party, but others scheme behind her back to make this a night to remember. After discovering the truth behind Chuck  and Blair’s car accident, Nate joins forces with a surprising ally to gather the evidence. Serena and Dan pretend to be dating again to protect someone close to them.

So, Blair's bachelorette party looks like pretty much fun, huh? It is good to see her being happy, less depressed (depressing, too) than she left us last Monday. She is going to be arrested, but it is not very serious, I guess. Roxane Mesquida, the actress playing Louis's sister, told Entertainment Weekly:
“Oh, it’s not crazy, like bad crazy. It’s just a lot of fun.”
She also said something about the party's guests:

“It was insane. They brought all of Blair’s friends from high school."
Did Blair actually have any other true friends except Serena? Probably  Kati Farkas, Isabel Coates, Hazel Williams and Penelope Shafai, although I'm not pretty sure if they are still friends, Blair is used to scare people away after a certain time.

Blair with her minions, Penelope, Hazel, Isabel, Kati (from left to right)
source: http://i32.tinypic.com/153mm2q.jpg

So, what could be happing at that party? With Serena accusing Chuck for doing something, Chuck trying to figure out why Blair left him, and Blair being totally drunk, I have a little theory:
Chuck is snooping around Blair, but she still refuses to tell him the truth. So he follows her to her bachelorette party secretly. When she is perfectly drunk, she gets into some kind of dangerous situation (just slightly dangerous), and Chuck saves her. She spills out the secret (the whole "God's will"-thing) and falls asleep (maybe in Chuck's limo). He takes her home, but when she wakes up, realizing what she did, she is suddenly outright mad at him and sends him away.

We will have to wait until Monday to find out, what is actully happening. Can't wait to!

Gossip Girl: The Mean Blair, Top 8

Now that everything is so complicaded with Blair and Chuck (and Louis and Dan and... God!), not saying that there was a time when their relationship was not complicaded, it is good to be reminded of the time, when they hated eachother (or pretended to). You now, just to raise your mood. I sometimes miss mean, sarcastic Blair, now that we just get quotes like "Just because when can't be together doesn't mean that I won't love you" (I stopped crying by now...).   That is why I made a top 8 list with hateful quotes from Blair about Chuck. Enjoy!
The one and only BLAIR WALDORF

8.Not to me, Basshole.
(season 2, episode 2 "Never Been Marcused")

7.You are disgusting and I hate you.
(season 2, episode 3 "The Dark Night")

6. Chuck is an awful person. He does awful things.
(season 2, episode 1 "Summer, Kind of Wonderful")

5.If you weren't such a perv, i'm sure the CIA would hire you in a second.
(season 1, episode 3 "Poison Ivy")

4. I've been given orders practically from God Himself to avoid you.
(season 1, episode 8 "Seventeen Candles")

This one is ever funnier considering the present conflict.

3. Nate is only friends with you out of habit! The only person with fewer friends than you is Dan Humphrey and even his lame, '90s dad likes him. And that's because he's something you'll never be. A human being.(season 2, episode 5 "The Serena Also Rises")

2. I wasn't aware that robots got jealous. Did they update your software while I was away?

(season 2, episode 1 "Summer, Kind of Wonderful")

And the number one- I think it is already kind of classic!

1. Damn that mother Chucker
(season 2, episode 1 "Summer, Kind of Wonderful")

Gossip Girl: The End of the Affair? REVIEW

It seems like I waited years for last night's new episode of Gossip Girl, watching that little promo video over and over again (30 seconds are really too short!). Finally watching "The End of the Affair?", it felt like the episode only took about 10 minutes. Not much actually happend, but there was this kind of suspense that left me breathless and dying to see more.
Ok, first a summary what the episode was all about for those who missed it (how could you?) and those who remember nothing but incredibly sweet Chuck in  the last scene.

SUMMARY:
It took place a little while after Chuck and Blair's car crash. Despite the fact Blair lost her baby, both are in good shape again, at least when it comes to their health. But instead of starting a new life together like they planned in 5x10, the royal wedding is still on and Blair is not talking to Chuck and avoiding her friends, especially Serena, as she and Louis got back to New York just in time for The Spectator's New Year's Eve party. Blair's strange behavior makes everyone curious, particulary Chuck, of course, who doesn't know what has changed. So he starts to investigate what she is doing and specially, with whom, because the prince assumes his fiancĂ©e is having an affair. He finds out that Blair is meeting Dan frequently. Dan is the only one Blair told about the reason she went back to Louis. It is because she prayed to God, when Chuck was still not awake after the accident, and she begged for Chuck's recovery, promising to abide by her promise to marry Louis in exchange. Chuck did actually woke up directly after, and Blair kept her word. But she's not sure if it is the right thing to do, that is why Dan takes her to church to let her make up her mind. Blair still loves Chuck more than anything, but she is affraid that something is going to happen if she would break the promise she made to God. When she sees are cab almost running into Chuck while she considers going back to him, she finally decides to stay with Louis. In the meantime, Nate tries to talk Serena into using the information the former Gossip Girl readers now send to her for her blog and he gets texts from a first unknown person telling him to do some research about the accident. After finding out that the not properly working car that was the real reason for the crash was supposed to be his, the texting person unveils hisself (or is it probably a herself?) as Gossip Girl.
At the party at the Spectator's office, Blair tells Serena about her secret, and when Chuck and Louis accuse Dan to have an affair with Blair, Serena tells them she and Dan started seeing eachother again to protect Blair. At Midnight, Dan and Serena kiss to make everyone believe the lie.
Lily hired a private investigator to find Charlie, and when she and Rufus are at the place the P.I. told her to find her, they meet the real Charlie without knowing it.
Dan & Blair
source:http://pics.livejournal.com/sir_fireboard/pic/0002cf4h
MY OPINION:
I can really understand why Blair is beliving that her marrying Louis is God's will and the guilty conscience she would have if her going back to Chuck would be the raison something happens to Chuck. And she just lost her baby, probably is still a bit messed up because of that. It is pretty hard to have to make such life changing deciscions right after a horrible accident like this. (Ok, it's already New Year's Eve, so the crash is already about how long, maybe 2 month, ago.)

Dan caring about her and protecting her was sweet, but I'm still not a Dair fan. In fact, I think it is pretty obvious that Serena is pretty much into him again, and I would favor this relationship, although I reckon that Dan's feelings are not the same. I think he is really fallen for Blair, even though he knows that it's not going to happen.

Chuck- I didn't like him concocting with Louis. The prince doesn't know Blair like Chuck does, so it is kind of ok for him to suspect an affair, but honestly, how could Chuck ever believe in any of that? Sure, he is confused and everything, but he should definitly know better.
Watching Blair destroy his hopes was terribly heartbreaking. I have to admit, I almost cried. You could see in all of Chucks body and face and eyes, that he just didn't understand why he can't be with the woman he loves so much.

Chuck (with Louis in the background, but that is where he should be, shouldn't he?)

For me, this episode was basically about Chuck and Blair, the rest was just details. I can't wait for next week to see what is going to happen next, keeping in mind that on January 30th, there is supposed to be a Royal Wedding...

Gossip Girl: soundtrack season 5

I always have the feeling, that a short time after being played on Gossip Girl, the songs from the soundtrack are getting popular. Is it just because of that or is it because they're amazing songs? Honestly, it's both. (Or maybe they only use the ones, that are already pretty well known...)
